Modernization of 35 level crossings in Egypt

Modernización de 35 pasos a nivel en Egipto

The project consists on the protection of thirty-five level crossings in Egypt. The protection systems of the level crossings are security installations, therefore are designed and built, taking into account, that any breakdown in any of its components has an impact in a secure condition. (Security intrinsic -Fail Safe)

The level crossing is modular and all its components are grouped, according to their specific function, in six basic subsystems:

Control
Detection
Protection
Supervision
Recording
Power supply

All devices are certified by ADIF and adapted to the specific requirements of the Egyptian railways. The control modules have a redundant configuration of 2 of 2

The subsystems will be housed in a shed:

Main control gear frame, endowing of the necessary equipment for automation, including release equipment, timers, etc., plugs of 220 V and 24 V and magnetothermic differential protection equipment with automatic reconnection, similar to those installed in FEVE.
Frame for power supply of the step with batteries, charger, protection, etc.
